Since we launched The Terrace Club, we have not only received incredible support but we have also gotten to know our members and their stories. It is the stories, the personalities and the experiences of The Terrace Club community that makes this so special.
We have shared a few of these stories so far and we will continue to do so. The strength of any community is in its members, and this community is no different. Up next is Kevin Abdon. Kevin has been an amazing part of the TC community and signifies a big part of what we have wanted to build with The Terrace Club. With that, here is Kevin Abdon.
Hi Kevin. Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Kevin and I am 32 years old. I currently reside in Lake Havasu, AZ. I actually never played soccer growing up and was not really into sports. I was more of a punk kid with a skateboard. In 2007, my band recorded an album with Branded Steineckert in Orem, UT. At the time he was just starting up with Rancid and he introduced me to Real Salt Lake. That's basically where my passion for soccer started. Then is 2010, I religiously watched the 2010 World Cup and that sealed the deal that I would basically become obsessed with the sport and the culture.
What are your favorite teams?
Real salt Lake and Arsenal.
I've unfortunately only attended two RSL matches. One in March of 2014 and one in April of 2016. That should hopefully change when i become a full time resident in Utah. As of now, thank God for MLS Live!
I also went to USA v Colombia in Pheonix for the COPA America in June of 2016. On April 4th, 2017 my girlfriend and myself will be flying to London to see Arsenal v West Ham at the Emirates Stadium which we are both really stoked for! I'd also love to get out for some of the USMNT qualifiers this year.
Tell us one thing about soccer that you love.
Stoppage time. It's just do or die and it's so amazing. So much can happen in such a small amount of time.
Tell us a little bit more about yourself.
Outside of soccer I am a respiratory therapist at a hospital. Camping, traveling and hiking are big in my life. I worked for over a decade as a veterinarian technician and have a major soft spot for animals. I'm basically a nerd: movies, comics, art, etc. I played bass in an alternative rock band in Las Vegas from 2006-2010.
